Apple is about to
buy a popular app: Shazam. According to TechCrunch, Apple and Shazam must sign
the agreement this week and the buyout is expected to be publicly announced on
Monday. The redemption amount would be around $ 400 million, but TechCrunch
notes that it may be more important.
For those who do
not know it, Shazam is an application that came into existence several years
ago. She knows how to identify a music being played to give the artist's name
and song name to the user. He can then buy it from the iTunes Store, stream it,
watch the clip on YouTube, have lyrics and other information. The application
exists on several media, including iOS, Android or macOS. A paid version
(Shazam Encore Here) exists and removes the advertisement.
The latest data -
dating back to September 2016 - reveal that the Shazam app has been downloaded
a billion times. We can guess that the number is more important so far, without
knowing if the progression is important or not.
